To demonstrate leadership and a world-wide reputation as a paramount resource in the development and transfer of innovative technology, proven solutions, and reliable services to preserve and enhance highway, road, and street systems infrastructure for the people and transportation providers of the region, North Dakota and the transportation community.

Mission Statement

To foster safe, efficient, environmentally sound, and cost effective North Dakota highway, road, and street systems by exchanging transportation technology with North Dakota's local units of government and transportation community through training, technical assistance, and information services as part of the US FHWA's nationwide LTAP network.

Goal: Deliver Quality and Diversified Customer Services Through the Exchange of Transportation Technology

Objectives

• Deliver a minimum of sixteen one-day workshops covering at least eight different topics.
• Schedule workshops in each of the eight NDDOT maintenance district at least once every four years.
• Deliver outreach on-site training and/or technical assistance for at least fifty different customers each year.
• Deliver technical assistance via telephone, mail, fax, and/or e-mail upon request.
• Deliver informational services by maintaining an extensive video tape library.
• Deliver informational services by providing publications and/or assisting with publication acquisition.
• Provide transportation system assessment services for clients. Center staff inspects, evaluates, and prepares recommendations and a plan of action for transportation system, management, operation, maintenance, traffic control, and safety needs.
• Perform SHRP or other transportation related projects with customers.
• Report on one or two customer projects quarterly with articles in the NDLTAP Center newsletter.
• Secure "success stories" from customers for technical assistance, training, cooperative project, or other services provided by the Center where improved knowledge and/or skills directly enhanced highway, road, or street system infrastructure safety, efficiency, cost effectiveness, or environmental soundness.
• Visit transportation providers in twenty five counties and several townships, cities, and towns in North Dakota each year.
• Develop marketing strategy to promote services and partner with North Dakota transportation related agencies (i.e.; NDDOT, UGPTI, MetroCOG, NDIRF, NACE NDACE Chapter, NDAPWA, etc.) and elected officials (ND State Legislature, ND League of Cities, ND Association of Counties, ND Association of Townships, etc.)
• Attend meetings to make presentations and/or set-up NDLTAP Center display for above referenced transportation related agencies and governmental organizations.
• Develop a training workshop for newly elected county, township, city, and town officials covering transportation related issues for local units of government to be presented at elected official's organizational meetings or independently.
• Partner with the transportation industry private sector in regards to developing, providing and/or sharing technology transfer services and resources in the areas of technical training, assistance and information. Provide the private sector with the same or modified services as enjoyed by public sector LTAP and provide membership on advisory committee.
• Make contact with all North Dakota clients who have never utilized services or have not utilized services during the last three years.
• Conduct a customer needs assessment once every three to five years.
