Description
This training session will instruct you about the use of subgrade stabilization, base layer stabilization and treatments for the driving surface. We will examine the most cost-effective ways to build a solid gravel road, reduce maintenance costs and improve the public's perception.
We will discuss both chemical and mechanical stabilization along with the proper use of surface treatments. As in all roadway projects, life cycle costs are the most important in saving both time and money. We will break down proper materials, roadway geometry, drainage and the use of proper material in each layer. The use of a motor grader and different techniques to help minimize time and money while exploring cutting edge options, grade control and roadway geometry. We will keep the attendees engaged and have fun while providing educational experience.
The classroom session will be held in the Dunn County highway department conference room. After lunch we will go to the road to learn the application of the dust control products in Dunn County. During the live road demo attendees must be wearing safety apparel (vest/coat) at all times.
