Description

The Employee Safety Awareness training will provide participants with a general awareness of safety in the workplace and at home. This First Aid CPR-AED training will provide you with initial training or re-training knowledge and skills to address medical events effectively in an effort to help those in need whether in life-threatening or non- life-threatening incidents.

This course is required to be completed every two years in order to stay current on the skills needed to address these medical events.

Topics covered in this training include:

First-aid

  • Assess/treat minor injuries including wounds, burns, sprains, and broken bones

CPR-AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Certification earned
Backing Safety
  • Focuses on training avoiding being struck by construction vehicles and equipment. Participants will learn to deal with hazardous traffic activities in the work zone and spotting construction vehicles and heavy equipment.

Speaker(s)

Steve Fischer, North Dakota AGC Safety Director, joined the AGC team in November of 2021. He retired from the ND Highway Patrol in 2020 after a 21 ½ career and had about 25 ½ years total in law enforcement. Steve instructs a variety of construction industry safety courses, which can be found on the AGC of ND website. He is a lifelong resident of ND, who grew up in Ashley, ND. Steve graduated from NDSU with degrees in sociology and social science.
