Description

Training will include an on-site bridge visit.
ALL attendees must wear a high visibility safety vest to participate in the on-site training.

Review of bridge basics including bridge components, a more in depth look at preservation and maintenance activities, and repair/rehab of bridges based on inspection reports. While we can't promise you will learn EVERYTHING, we will help you understand the benefits of preservation & maintenances and the implications of possible repair or rehab strategies.

Repair and rehab strategies implemented can affect the load carrying capacity of your bridge. We will look at some bridges in depth to determine the appropriate repair/rehab option based on the owner's intent for that bridge moving forward.

Speaker(s)

Bryon Fuchs, P.E. NDLTAP Program Director with 25 plus years of transportation experience. He previously worked for a consulting engineering firm and NDDOT in Materials and Research and Local Government Division. Bryon was involved in the bridge replacement & inspection program for local agencies while at NDDOT.

Matthew Luger P.E. NDDOT Bridge Management Team Lead with 15 years of transportation engineering experience. He previously worked in the NDDOT Materials and Research Division. Matt is currently responsible for the NDDOT Bridge Management System, Bridge STIP, Bridge Scoping, Bridge Load Rating, and Bridge Preservation programs.

Wade Thompson, P.E. - KLJ Bridge Group leader at KLJ with 15 years of experience working with federal, state and local agencies. Wade has been involved in a wide variety of projects, with structure replacements and rehabilitations as his primary focus, working to help maintain infrastructure across multiple states.
